HAFTED STONE AXE

This stone axe was collected in the Bundaberg area of Queensland in Australia by a Government worker by the name of Jack Walter Samuels in the late 1930's. The condition is very good with one side of the stone axe head ground to a sharp edge. The shaft would have been split to hold the stone head before being bound with kangaroo sinew then coated with natural resin.
The overall length is 16" and the stone head 4" by 3".
