An absolutely superb painted coolomin which are used to collect foods (seeds, roots,grubs etc.) by Aboriginal woman. This example was collected at an Aboriginal settlement in southern Western Australia by a nurse working there in 1963. The item is quite finely carved and lightweight and the size is nearly 22" by 5 1/2".
