A great Asmat carving from Irian Jaya of two Male ancestor figures of a style exemplified by the huge Asmat funerary 'bis' pole carvings found there. The bottom figure is standing on a bird and both figures are holding the bird under their chins and are very well carved. The piece stands 24" high by 6" wide and weighs approx. 5lb. This piece was collected by an Australian mine worker in 1971
