LIME POT & LIME SPATULA
|
|
A Trobriand Island lime pot and spatula made in ebony. This pair were apparently collected in the 1920's by a missionary working in the islands and the pot is superbly carved with two female ancestor figures carved opposite each other. The lime stick (or spatula) appears to represent a whale or bird with an opened mouth depiction facing down the shaft. The pot stands 7" by 2" wide and the spatula is 10" long. PRICE: |
